The school “La Maison Des Enfants Donatin” is our first project, our starting point. This is why for its good development we have many projects for this school.
In the long term, we would like to be able to open new Montessori schools / training centers around the world, thus giving many children the possibility of accessing such a pedagogy and allowing its development all around the globe. .
SPONSORSHIP
The problem with such a pedagogy is its cost; indeed the equipment and its maintenance, the training… are very expensive and this is why unfortunately we cannot offer it free of charge. Much cheaper than in other countries, however, we ask parents to pay for schooling. The canteen is also a budget to be taken into account as well as the transport of the children (most inhabitants very far from the school, a school bus is necessary).
Unfortunately some parents do not have the means for all these expenses, and the orphanage with which we are in partnership cannot send all of its children by paying for each of them. This is why we are looking for children in need, the most vulnerable, godfathers, godmothers, who would pay for their schooling and / or canteen and / or transport (for those who need it). These godparents are kept informed every quarter of how the child they are sponsoring is progressing, they have the possibility of exchanging, and the child can enjoy a good education and be fed.
CONSTRUCTIONS
In the short term, the school needs to carry out work to create a roof to replace the sheet metal currently in place.
In the longer term, we would like to install solar panels in order to benefit from ecological and economical electricity. We would also like to be able to build a training center in which new Montessori educators can be trained and thus develop this pedagogy across the country.
In addition, some classrooms must be secure in order to benefit all children.
MONTESSORI TO COLLEGE
Currently, we have been able to develop pedagogy only up to the preparatory class. Being very expensive, we cannot develop it until college but it is part of our long term plans.
TRANSPORT
A large part of the children attending the Maison des enfants de Donatin live very far away, so we had to set up a shuttle to take them to school, as the path was not practicable on foot. We are trying to be able to develop transport for these children.
OPEN A TRAINING CENTER
Maria Montessori having created this pedagogy with a vision of the future for society, this pedagogy is proving to be particularly interesting in a developing country like Benin and it has proven itself there for a few years. This is why we want to create a training center for Montessori educators in order to allow the expansion of this pedagogy throughout the country.
